When I found out we were going to put Lance Armstrong on the cover of Aspen Magazine, and I’d be coordinating the photo shoot with photographer Tom Zuccareno, I was thrilled!

Yes, Lance Armstrong has s dubious reputation. But I’m still a fan. And the opportunity to meet him in person, in an intimate situation like a photo shoot was definitely a highlight of my production career.

I booked a basement ballroom of the St. Regis Hotel in Aspen and Tom set up a seamless. I brought a small selection of shirts, which Lance refused, and so we did what we did and put him on the backdrop and Tom had 15 minutes to get a couple of shots suitable for the cover and inside. At the end, we all gathered together for a group photo. I stood next to Lance. He put his arm around me. He asked, “Am I squeezing you too tight?” I replied, “Oh, no problem!”
