I’m not a content marketing agency—I’m a content marketer. That means I work with small businesses to help them build their customer base through useful online content and social media engagement. I help my clients to refine their business’s “story” and then use their website, blog, social media channels, and/or print advertising to tell that story.
Telling your company story starts with your website. Good website copy needs to be both useful for your customers and written and organized in a way to perform well in search—otherwise known as SEO or search engine optimization.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or getting ready for an update, we’ll go through your website together to make sure it succinctly articulates who you are and what your business offers.
Blog writing & strategy
A great blog is at the heart of any online marketing strategy, but writing a great blog is a lot harder than it might first seem. Besides finding the time to write, you need to come up with something to write about that is both in line with your business’s message and entertaining and/or useful for your customers. I’ll work with you to develop an editorial calendar and to help you produce valuable content on a regular schedule.
How I work varies depending on the client’s needs. Sometimes I’m a “ghostwriter” creating blog posts in the voice of the client. Other times I write in the business’s voice, or with a byline, or edit posts you’ve written yourself. Explore some of my work here.
Press release writing & distribution
Need to get the word out about a project or an event? I can help you craft a press release that will generate media interest. Depending on your needs, I can help you post the press release to a distribution site like Newswire and/or send it out directly to a targeted list of journalists and publications.
When you’re surfing social media for your own entertainment, it can be fun. When you need to regularly post content that gets engagement—likes, click-throughs, and shares—it can feel like a thorn in your side. I’ll help you determine which social media channels—Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google +, Instagram, Pinterest, or others—are the most appropriate for your business to pursue, develop a content strategy and schedule, and show you how to write posts that will excite and inspire your customers. In some cases, I can also manage your social media for you.
We’ll also determine which social media advertising opportunities are the most appropriate for your business, and work together to develop advertisements that will convert from customer engagement into sales.
Ad design & placement
One of the most important credentials I offer as a content marketer is a background in editorial production and design. If it is appropriate for your business, I offer print advertisement design and placement in appropriate media, as well as photographic and production services.
