A great blog is at the heart of any online marketing strategy, but writing a great blog is a lot harder than it might first seem. Besides finding the time to write, you need to come up with something to write about that is both in line with your business’s message and entertaining and/or useful for your customers. I’ll work with you to develop an editorial calendar and to help you produce valuable content on a regular schedule.
Before we get started with content creation (the fun part!) we need to develop a strategy. I’ll look at where you are now and where you want to be, and recommend the best avenues to get you there. This may include a website update, SEO audit, content refresh and/or new content creation, as well as how to promote that content through organic/paid search, social media, email marketing, and/or traditional advertising.
Telling your company story starts with your website. Whether you’re starting from scratch or getting ready for an update, we’ll go through your website together to make sure it succinctly articulates who you are and what your business offers.
Editing & content management
Does the bulk of your company blog content come from employees, customers, or other guest contributors? I’m a seasoned editor with a keen eye for spelling, grammar, and style. I can help you create an editorial calendar, manage submissions, proofread or copyedit for clarity and style, and/or post on any WordPress, Squarespace, or other CMS.
I’ll also help you source imagery and prepare images for posting according to SEO best practices and your website’s style.
Thought leadership isn’t just another marketing buzzword; it’s presenting yourself as the go-to person in your area of experience. But if your area of expertise doesn’t involve the written word, you may struggle to convey your expertise on paper (or the screen). I can help you develop a thought leadership narrative and create a series of articles that will attract attention and drive traffic to your brand.
Search engine optimization (SEO)
Great content is nothing if it can’t be found. Content needs to be useful, well written, engaging, and optimized for search. I can help you increase your website’s organic traffic through keyword research, user behavior analysis, improving your site’s organization and content flow, and make sure your site meets the most current SEO best practices.
Are your copywriting needs more specific? An event promotion, packaging, or an exhibit in a museum? No matter how unusual your storytelling needs, I’m game. There’s nothing more rewarding than tackling a complicated creative project—and succeeding.
When you’re surfing social media for your own entertainment, it can be fun. When you need to regularly post content that gets engagement—likes, click-throughs, and shares—it can feel like a thorn in your side. I’ll help you determine which social media channels—Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google +, Instagram, Pinterest, or others—are the most appropriate for your business to pursue, develop a content strategy and schedule, and show you how to write posts that will excite and inspire your customers.
SEM & SMM
Search engine marketing and social media marketing—they sound the same, but they’re really quite different.
I’ll help you determine which search engine or social media advertising opportunities are the most appropriate for your business, and work with you to develop advertisements that will convert from customer engagement into sales.
Ad design & placement
One of the most important credentials I offer as a content marketing professional is a background in editorial production and design. If it is appropriate for your business, I offer print advertisement design and placement in appropriate media outlets, as well as photographic and production services.
How I Work
With a byline
I’m proud of every piece I create, so if your website includes author bylines, all the better! I can work with topics assigned by a content manager or via pitch requests.
